I arrived Bangkok to absolute extreme humidity!! Instant sweat on, partially due to the fact i ws wearing sweats (been hanging round with Claire too long) and cardigan from the extreme arctic conditions i was witnessing in Johannesburg (their early Winter).
So the heat well it hit me hard! The tuk tuk drivers attacked me (not literally) well i got one and it cost me 10Baht (and the exchange rate is 54Baht to the 1pound !!!) and then the return journey was going to be 6B as the man said and then when i paid him he was all angry in Thai and shouting and i was like what what and then other Thai ppl surrounded the tuk tuk and one man was like no 6-0 and i was like no no no no, anyway i walked off (well awkwardly pulled my bags to the side of the road and sweated off into the distance as fast as i could).
Nighmare and i just felt so hot and tired (due to the flights) and then i bumped in to Matt and Josh the Americans with backpacks too on Khosan Road, and the rest is history.
So Thai rain is HEAVY !!!!! and literally a downpour became a flood in 15minutes maximum... so at first we were running down the street splashing in the rain (Thai ppl hiding under plastic sheeting) only the crazy Tourists dance in the rain !!
The rain was amazing it literally was over a foot deep so quickly less than 20minutes passed by and it was a rive running down the road, but now it was manky dirty water with 'things' floating in it! Not pleasant and im thinking TYPHOID hehehe..
It was great fun and Thai beer makes me love Pizza hut salad bar..which i had in the early hours of the morning, worked a treat on the hangover, as its non exsistant this morning :)
